University Orientation Plan at the Faculty of Law (POU)

The University Orientation Plan at the University of Zaragoza (POUZ) aims to assist the integration of students in the University, as well as helping them in their education and development and in gaining employment.

The POUZ takes place and is implemented at each institution according to their peculiarities.

In each academic year, every student is assigned a Teacher-Tutor who is in charge of accompanying and guiding them throughout their undergraduate studies, as well as helping them solve the various problems they may encounter. During the first year there is also a Student Mentor, as well as the figure of the Teacher-Tutor, a role carried out by students in the final years of their degrees and which helps students integrate into university life and study.

In the case of the Faculty of Law, the main aims of the POU are students proper integration into university life, the acquisition of useful instrumental tools in the study of law, the development of appropriate study and work habits, the peculiarities of international mobility in law, guidance in carrying out curricular and extracurricular activities at companies and institutions, as well as professional opportunities and gaining employment in the future.

Accommodation

For those who live outside the city of Zaragoza there are various accommodation options in the city.

The first of these is the wide range of Halls of Residence of various types in the city.

Among the different university residences that exist in Zaragoza, there are two directly managed by the University and located on the Campus where the Faculty of Law is situated (Campus San Francisco): the Pedro Cerbuna University Hall of Residence (CMU) (250 rooms) and the Santa Isabel CMU (192 rooms). In addition to these, there is also the Campus Río Ebro on the outskirts of the city (102 places).

The second option is the renting of rooms in private accommodation or the renting of complete houses or flats. The University of Zaragoza thus has a service to help all those students who are looking for a room or a flat to rent.

International students

University of Zaragoza International Relations Section

The International Relations Section at the University of Zaragoza, which is accountable to the Vice-Chancellor's Office of International Relations, centralizes, coordinates and deals with all international academic and educational matters.

This is the section which, among other duties:

  • Informs and advises the university community about the various international cooperation programmes in the field of higher education.
  • Coordinates the implementation and development of international training activities in which the University participates.

International Relations Office at the Faculty of Law

The Faculty of Law has an international relations office responsible for dealing with any administrative enquiries our international students may have.

The office is located on the second floor of the Faculty of Law, next to the Secretary's Office, and is open from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 10:30 and from 11:15 to 14:00.

Free advice for students

The University of Zaragoza has four free, anonymous, youth advice services, which are provided by a team of professionals.

These are the academic, legal, sex and counselling advice services.

Service for students with special needs: University Office of Attention to Diversity

The University of Zaragoza has a service for all those students with special educational needs arising from a disability. This is the University Office for Attention to Diversity at the University of Zaragoza (OUAD), which is accountable to the Vice-Chancellor's Office for Students and Employment.

Its main mission is to assist all those students who need help as a result of a disability, thus ensuring equal opportunities and full inclusion in university life. It does in addition promote the awareness and understanding of the university community.

Some of the Office’s duties are, for example:

  • Preparing reports for the teaching staff about the needs of their students
  • Providing personal and/or technical support to students who need it for their full autonomy in the classroom.
  • Providing students who need technical support suited to the needs arising from their disability.
  • Facilitating student accessibility to the classroom.
  • Adapting the evaluation tests and study materials (Braille, personal computers, sign language interpreters, etc.).
