Master's in Occupational Health and Safety
Presentation
The Master's in Occupational Health and Safety (MUPRL) at the University of Zaragoza is an official course that provides the necessary training to perform the duties of Senior Technician in Occupational Health and Safety.
There is a great demand currently for professional experts in the field of occupational health and safety, mainly for two reasons
The first is because the current regulatory framework for Occupational Health and Safety requires companies, public bodies and institutions to carry out preventive actions in order to protect the health and safety of workers, which requires the recruitment of professionals who are experts in these matters. The necessary training to perform this work can only be certified by a postgraduate study given by the University.
In addition, changes in production and economic models that seek greater flexibility and openness contribute to the emergence of new scenarios, case studies and areas to consider in the field of Occupational Health and Safety and health care at work. Furthermore, the fundamental rights involved in Occupational Health and Safety, such as the right to life, the right to physical and moral integrity of persons and the right to health, require training schemes aimed at improving safety and health at work.
After the completion of the Master’s, students will ultimately be able to exercise the profession of Senior Technician in Occupational Health and Safety in the three specialties it is composed of: safety at work, industrial hygiene and ergonomics and applied psychology and sociology.
They will also have the ability to carry out studies into working conditions, risks to health and well-being of workers and the effectiveness of interventions in the field of Occupational Health and Safety.
All of this allowing them to ensure the professional activity includes responsibility and ethical values for the enforcement and defence of fundamental rights, promoting equality of opportunity and non-discrimination
