Recommended profile

The ideal profile for access to the Law Degree is a Higher-Secondary Education Course in Arts and Social Sciences. We must not forget that this degree mainly involves studying the series of laws and legal principles governing society. There is also room for other subjects, such as those with an economic profile, which offer an explanation of how society is from their particular perspective.

The education offered by this degree is also humanistic in nature, which is why the student will find historical or philosophical subjects that aim to complete their all-round education. They will also make it easier for them to gain a deeper understanding of what law is, its origin and evolution, its meaning and function.

However, this does not mean that law is not open to those who have completed their Higher-Secondary Education Courses in Arts or Science and Technology. On the contrary, law requires the skills they involve, and experience shows that our degree is a meeting point for those who have studied the various higher-secondary education courses, and that our graduates enjoy a very wide range of professional opportunities related to all areas of society and which require constant contact with professionals from other disciplines.

Entry requirements

One of the following requirements must be met to be admitted as a new student on the official university degree courses:

• Hold a Higher-Secondary Education qualification and pass the University Higher-Secondary Course Assessment (EvAU) or equivalent test.
• Be in possession of an Advanced Professional Training Certificate, Advanced Technical Certificate in Visual Arts and Design or Advanced Technical Certificate in Sports, or equivalent qualifications
• To have passed the University Entrance Examination for those over 25
• To have passed the University Entrance Examination for those over 45
• Be over 40 and gain entry through certification of work or professional experience
• Have an official university degree qualification, Master’s degree or equivalent.
• Be in possession of a pre-university qualification obtained in foreign educational systems [students following the route provided for in Article 9.1.b) and 9.2.b) and c) of Royal Decree 412/2014, of June 6].

University Application form

The application form for official degree courses must be submitted online, filling out the form and following the instructions on the website at:

A single application form must be submitted, stating, in order of preference, the undergraduate degree courses to be studied, up to a maximum of ten. It is very important to indicate more than one degree course in order not to risk only having one single choice.

In both cases, an email address must be indicated, to send notification of the result of the application, as well as information related to the enrolment process, the functioning of the waiting lists, etc.

Places awarded

The places awarded depend mainly on the number of places offered in each degree and the grades the students have. It must also be taken into account that the total number of places offered for each course is arranged from a general quota of places [Higher-Secondary Education Course students, Professional training students and students with pre-university studies from foreign educational systems] and some reserved places [students with disabilities, high-level or high performance athletes, those over 25, 45 or 40, university graduates].

Admission lists are published on the official University of Zaragoza notice board [sede.unizar.es]. This publication is considered official notification for those interested, but it will not have any conclusive favourable effects for them if the University finds any inaccuracies in the above, in which case they would be modified.

The following is published for each undergraduate degree course:

• A list of those admitted, in alphabetical order, with their first names and surnames, entrance grades and the quota that corresponds to them.
• A waiting list, arranged in order of priority, stating their first names and surnames, grades and the quota that corresponds to them.

The result of the application is also communicated through a personalized letter in PDF format that is sent to the email address indicated on the application form. This letter also includes information related to the enrolment process and its deadlines, personal passwords, the operation of waiting lists, etc.

If students are admitted to a degree course other than the one selected as their first choice, they will be placed on the waiting list for all the degrees chosen as their preference.

Once the first enrolment period has ended, those institutions where there are still vacancies because not all the students initially admitted have enrolled will then publicly notify those on the waiting lists. Each notification will list the students on the waiting list who should enrol, and who will then no longer be notified or included in notifications for those courses applied for with a lesser preference.

Enrolment

Students who appear on the lists of those admitted must enrol on the dates indicated for each period in the official academic calendar.

It is important to know that if applicants do not enrol on the scheduled dates, all rights to the place obtained will be lost. It is thus necessary to pay close attention to the notifications, since the interested parties are not notified by telephone.
